This page and video was prepared by the students of Here at Everything Jesus Ranch, we sell raw
milk. Raw milk is said to be one of the healthiest beverages in
existence. Because the milk is raw, it still contains all of the
original nutrients and enzymes that boost the immune system and is said
to cure certain diseases. Take a look at what others have said about
this: Up until the 1920’s raw milk was just as common as bottled water is today. It was fed to everyone from young infants to the oldest seniors. So the obvious question is, with all of the health benefits of raw milk why is it almost impossible to find? The answer to this question is concise: producing raw milk is more work, requires a higher sanitation standard, and makes less money. Genesis Christian Church at Everything Jesus Ranch is a ministry devoted to the education and healing of families. We have a tuition-free K-12 academy on a 114 acre ranch in Seguin, TX. We have family campsites, horseback riding, kids and family summer camp, arts and crafting workshops, organic gardens and a licensed raw milk dairy. Proceeds from our dairy help to support the school. All of these components combine to teach and encourage families to be whole and healthy in Christ--spiritually, physically, emotionally and intellectually. Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. Genesis 1:29 Our ministry encourages a raw diet. Although our diet is not strictly vegetarian, we incorporate about 80% raw foods into our diet each day. Even though we eat a lot of raw food, we sell and consume our own pasture fed beef, chicken, goat, pork and lamb. Most of our raw fruits and vegetables are grown right here in our certified naturally grown gardens. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Numbers 14:8 It is pretty obvious to us that milk—in its unadulterated state—is God’s blessing, and a key to physical wellness. The Bible contains at least 42 positive references to milk as a sustaining, good tasting, and desirable beverage. So it makes sense that God would use something like raw milk as a ministry tool, through which we support our ministry, meet other brothers and sisters in Christ, and witness the repair and healing of numerous physical ailments—especially gastro-intestinal problems and neurological disorders. The following pictures and text chronicle the process of bringing clean, raw, delicious milk from us………to you! RISE AND SHINE: THE MILKING PROCESS FROM START TO FINISH Our cows a blessing to us, and in every way we try to be a blessing to them as well! We handle them gently, and try not to use force or upset them. The cows have the run of the whole ranch, and except for an occasional cow chip here and there (they really tend more to do their business in the fields) they don’t disturb anything or anyone. Our students are surrounded by all of the animals as they move from one part of the ranch to another to engage in various classes and activities. Visitors have commented how happy and tranquil our cows seem to be. What a blessing, because a happy cow definitely gives more milk! When we built a new barn to be licensed to sell our raw milk to the public, the cows seemed to know that they were in “new digs”. Their comportment became more controlled and sophisticated.
Early to rise…..the first member of our milking crew—the prep guy—arrives about 3:30 am. Before the cows ever come in, the barn is washed down from ceiling to floor with d-limonene, a natural antibacterial spray, made from citrus peel extract. Twice a week the barn is steam cleaned. We use the water from our deep, cement bottom well that is tested routinely by the Health Department. After the barn is clean, we are ready to receive our “ladies-in-waiting”. We have conditioned the cows to line up in the morning to enter the barn in response to our ringing a bell (thanks, Pavlov!).
The cows file in to the milking stanchions—they love it if they can be milked in the same stanchion each time—and get ready to receive a head to toe bath.
We spend about 15 minutes washing each cow—much more time than is spent in a machine-milking operation of any sort—to make sure that all debris is removed from the cow, and unable to find its way into your milk. Just about the time the barn and cows are finished with their scrubdown, the rest of the milking crew arrives. I am one of them. We are actually a bunch of lazy slackers who sleep late and don’t bother even showing up until 4 in the morning! Now that the ladies are clean, its time for the milking crew to rise to the occasion….. Hands are scrubbed with iodine
in the hand washing sink of the processing room.…. All milkers use vinyl (not allergy-aggravating
latex) gloves for milking. Scratch your head, touch the stanchion,
adjust your hat….the gloves are peeled off, thrown away and replaced
with a new pair. Each milker usually goes through three pairs of gloves
per cow!
The milk is strained through a disposable micron filter placed in a seamless stainless steel funnel… that is atop an industry standard stainless steel milk container… which is immersed in an ice-filled cooler, for speedy temperature reduction of the milk.
Milking is finished, the cows are turned out to graze, and the barn is cleaned again, so it will be ready for afternoon milking. What motivates a body to milk cows morning and night? Is it money? The need for regular barn fellowship? No, it can only be the Holy Spirit, and the desire to be used by God to spread wellness to everyone who will receive it!

I don’t know
what he’s thinking about while milking. Me? I’m dreaming about
breakfast—yogurt and nuts, maybe bacon with my eggs, a cup of tea and
guess what cold beverage for breakfast? Everybody agrees that raw
milk tastes so good. I believe it is also really good for my
im-moo-ne system, as well!
